Emergency Teams are trained with this tip to save time contacting your loved ones.
Car / Van Accidents - Many Drivers carry a Mobile / Cell Phone that has a camera included with them these days. Should you have an accident and you are OK - take photographs of the damage to both vehicles, people involved (if possible) and scene of accident. Each photograph will say a thousand words to your insurance company. This could save false claims against you!
Sat Navs - (Our thanks go to AutoXP, UK) 1. - Apart from cleaning your mounting ring on the windscreen after removing the Sat Nav Mounting kit when not in use - you should always mount the Sat Nav in the middle of your widscreen. Most modern cars have Air Bags fitted in the front columns to the car roof. If you were in an accident and you had the Sat Nov mounted to the Right Hand Side of the Steering Wheel, the force of the Air Bag going off would make the Sat Nav act like a projectile that could damage you or your passenger.
2. - Never programme in your home address, always programme a near location such as the High Street or Station Road in your area for examples. Most people have the house keys on the same Key Ring as their Car Keys. If you were mugged and the car was stolen, the thief could take a chance and go to your house knowing you were not at home or take copies of your keys for a visit to your home at some time in the future.
Energy Saving Light Bulbs - (Source: BBC News Headlines - 05th January 2008) Take extreme care disposing of broken Energy Saving Light Bulbs as they contain a small amount of Toxic Mercury. If one breaks, open the windows to vent the room and leave the room for approx. 15 minutes.
